PLASTICS HOSES - HELICAL-THERMOPLASTIC-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTICS HOSES FOR SUCTION AND DISCHARGE OF AQUEOUS MATERIALS - SPECIFICATION (ISO 3994:2007, IDT)
MS ISO 3994:2008
Status : Withdrawn
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies the requirements for three types of helical-thermoplastic-reinforced thermoplastics hoses for suction and discharge of water, weak aqueous chemical solutions and abra ....Read more sive solids and slurries, for use in the ambient temperature range from -10 °C to + 55 °C.

The three types of hose are for light-, medium- and heavy-duty applications.

The types of hoses covered in this International Standard are not intended for use with flammable or combustible materials, nor with aromatic solvents.

NOTE. Hoses of a similar construction for suction and discharge for fire-fighting are specified in ISO 14557, Fire-fighting hoses — Rubber and plastics suction hoses and hose assemblies.

PETROLEUM PRODUCTS - LUBRICATING OILS AND ADDITIVES - DETERMINATION OF SULFATED ASH (ISO 3987:1994, IDT)
MS ISO 3987:2009
Status : Original
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard describes a procedure for the determination of the mass percentage of sulfated ash from unused lubricating oils containing additives and from additive concentrates used in comp ....Read more ounding. These additives usually contain one or more of the following metals: barium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, sodium and tin. The elements sulfur, phosphorus and chlorine tan also be present in combined form.

Application of this procedure to sulfated ash levels below 0.02 % (m/m) is restricted to oils containing ashless additives. The lower limit of applicability of the procedure is 0.005 % (m/m) sulfated ash.

This Malaysian Standard is not intended for the analysis of used engine oils containing lead, nor is it
recommended for the analysis of non-additive lubricating oils, for which ISO 6245:1993, Petroleum products - Determination of ash, is suitable.

NOTE 1 There is evidence that magnesium does not react in the same manner as alkali metals in this procedure. If magne

ANIMAL AND VEGETABLES FATS AND OILS - DETERMINATION OF PEROXIDE VALUE - IODOMETRIC (VISUAL) ENDPOINT DETERMINATION (ISO 3960:2007, IDT)
MS ISO 3960:2009
Status : Original
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies a method for the iodometric determination of the peroxide value of animal and vegetable fats and oils with a visual endpoint detection. The peroxide value is a measur ....Read more e of the amount of oxygen chemically bound to an oil or fat as peroxides, particularly hydroperoxides.

The method is applicable to all animal and vegetable fats and oils, fatty acids and their mixtures with peroxide values from 0 meq to 30 meq (milliequivalents) of active oxygen per kilogram. It is also applicable to margarines and fat spreads with varying water content. The method is not suitable for milk fats and is not applicable to lecithins.

It is to be noted that the peroxide value is a dynamic parameter, whose value is dependent upon the history of the sample. Furthermore, the determination of the peroxide value is a highly empirical procedure and the value obtained depends on the sample mass. It is stressed that, due to the prescribed sample mass, the peroxide values obtained c

SAMPLING PROCEDURES FOR INSPECTION BY VARIABLES – PART 1: SPECIFICATION FOR SINGLE SAMPLING PLANS INDEXED BY ACCEPTANCE QUALITY LIMIT (AQL) FOR LOT-BY-LOT INSPECTION FOR A SINGLE QUALITY CHARACTERISTIC AND A SINGLE AQL (FIRST REVISION) (ISO 3951-1:2005, IDT)
MS ISO 3951-1:2007
Status : 1st Revision
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies an acceptance sampling system of single sampling plans for inspection by variables, in which the acceptability of a lot is implicitly determined from an estimate of t ....Read more he percentage of nonconforming items in the process, based on a random sample of items from the lot.

This Malaysian Standard is primarily designed for application under the following conditions:

a) where the inspection procedure is to be applied to a continuing series of lots of discrete products all supplied by one producer using one production process;

b) where only a single quality characteristic x of these products is taken into consideration, which must be measurable on a continuous scale;

c) where the measurement error is negligible, i.e. with a standard deviation no more than 10 % of the
process standard deviation;

d) where production is stable (under statistical control) and the quality characteristic x is distributed according to a normal distribution or a close approxi
