PLASTICS – DETERMINATION OF TEMPERATURE OF DEFLECTION UNDER LOAD – PART 3: HIGH-STRENGTH THERMOSETTING LAMINATES AND LONG-FIBRE-REINFORCED PLASTICS (FIRST REVISION) (ISO 75-3:2004, IDT)
MS ISO 75-3:2007
Status : 1st Revision
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies a method for the determination of the temperature of deflection under load of high-strength thermosetting laminates and compression-moulded long-fibre-reinforced plas ....Read more tics in which the fibre length is greater than 7.5 mm. The flexural stress used is not fixed, as in MS ISO 75-2, but is a fraction (1/1 000) of the initial (room-temperature) flexural modulus of the material under test. This allows the method to be applied to materials with a wide range of flexural moduli.

For additional information, see ISO 75-1:2004, clause 1.

PLASTICS – DETERMINATION OF TEMPERATURE OF DEFLECTION UNDER LOAD – PART 2: PLASTICS AND EBONITE (FIRST REVISION) (ISO 75-2:2004, IDT)
MS ISO 75-2:2007
Status : Withdrawn
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies three methods, using different values of constant flexural stress, that can be used for the determination of the temperature of deflection under load of plastics (inc ....Read more luding filled plastics and fibre-reinforced plastics in which the fibre length, prior to processing, is up to 7,5 mm) and ebonite: method A, using a flexural stress of 1,80 MPa; method B, using a flexural stress of 0,45 MPa; method C, using a flexural stress of 8,00 MPa.

The Malaysian Standard deflection ?s used to determine the temperature of deflection under load corresponds to a flexuralstrain increase ? ? f defined in this part of ISO 75. The initial flexural strain due to the loading of the specimen at room temperature is neither specified nor measured in this part of ISO 75. The ratio of this flexural-strain difference to the initial flexural strain depends on the modulus of elasticity, at room temperature, of the material under test.

This Malaysian Standard is therefore only suita

PLASTICS – DETERMINATION OF TEMPERATURE OF DEFLECTION UNDER LOAD – PART 1: GENERAL TEST METHOD (FIRST REVISION) (ISO 75-1:2004, IDT)
MS ISO 75-1:2007
Status : Withdrawn
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies methods for the determination of the temperature of deflection under load (flexural stress under three-point loading) of plastics. Different types of test specimen an ....Read more d different constant loads are defined to suit different types of material.

This Malaysian Standard gives a general test method, part 2 gives specific requirements for plastics (including filled plastics and fibre-reinforced plastics in which the fibre length, prior to processing, is up to 7,5 mm) and ebonite while part 3 gives specific requirements for high-strength thermosetting laminates and long-fibre-reinforced plastics in which the fibre length is greater than 7,5 mm.

This Malaysian Standard specified are suitable for assessing the relative behaviour of different types of material at elevated temperature under load at a specified rate of temperature increase. The results obtained do not necessarily represent maximum applicable temperatures, because in practice essential factors suc

PLASTICS - DETERMINATION OF WATER ABSORPTION (FIRST REVISION) (ISO 62:2008, IDT)
MS ISO 62:2010
Status : 1st Revision
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard describes a procedure for determining the moisture absorption properties in the "through-the-thickness" direction of flat or curved-form solid plastics. This standard also desc ....Read more ribes procedures for determining the amount of water absorbed by plastic specimens of defined dimensions, when immersed in water or when subjected to humid air under controlled conditions. The "through-the-thickness" moisture diffusion coefficient can be determined for single-phase material by assuming Fickian diffusion behaviour with constant moisture absorption properties through the thickness of the test specimen. Plastics - Determination of apparent density of material that can be poured from a specified funnel (ISO 60:1977, IDT)
MS ISO 60:2004 (CONFIRMED:2012)
Status : 1st Confirmation
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies a method of determining the apparent density, i.e. the mass per unit of volume, of loose material (powder or granular material) that tan be poured from a funnel of sp ....Read more ecified design.

NOTE - For a method of determining the apparent density of loose moulding material that cannot be poured from a specified funnel.

When the method is applied to relatively coarse materials, rather variable results may be obtained, owing to the error introduced when a straightedge blade is drawn across the top of the cylinder.

A knowledge of apparent density is of limited value in estimating the relative fluffiness or bulk of moulding materials, unless their densities in the moulded condition are approximately the same.
