MS 1918-2:2019, AMD. 1:2021
Status : Amendment 1
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard prescribes the rules for improving the safety of existing escalators and moving walks with the aim of reaching an equivalent level of safety to that of a newly installed escala ....Read more tor and moving walk by the application of today’s state of the art for safety. NOTE. Due to situations such as the existing machine or building designs, it may not be possible in all cases to reach today’s state of the art for safety. Nevertheless, the objective is to improve the level of safety wherever possible.

This standard includes the improvement of safety of existing escalators and moving walks for:

a) users;
b) maintenance and inspection personnel;
c) persons outside the escalator or moving walk (but in its immediate vicinity); and d) authorised persons.

This standard is not applicable to:

Rubber threads - Methods of test (Second revision) (ISO 2321:2017, IDT) (Published by Standards Malaysia in 2022)
MS ISO 2321:2017
Status : 2nd Revision
Format : PDF

This document specifies methods of test for determining general physical and mechanical properties of rubber threads, as well as specific mechanical properties of such threads in contact with fabrics. ....Read more Owing to the comparatively small cross-section and the unusual conditions of service of this material, certain special methods have been developed.

Some of the tests included in this document are not entirely suitable for threads made from certain synthetic rubbers (e.g. urethane rubber). These tests are intended for natural or synthetic polyisoprene rubbers.

Comparisons can only be made on new rubber threads or on those with identical processing histories. In the interpretation of results from threads which have been subjected to spooling, fabrication or any other process, the previous history is important, and what is known of this and of any relaxation treatments used is intended to be reported.
