This Malaysian Standard defines the metadata schema for describing geospatial dataset and services. It provides information about the identification, the extent, the quality, the spatial and temporal aspects, spatial reference, the portrayal, distribution, the acquisition and processing of geographic information; including imagery and gridded data, and other properties of digital geospatial data and services. It also defines a set of XML schema required to implement and validate metadata instance documents conforming to conceptual model elements.
This document is applicable to:
a) The cataloguing of all types of resources, clearing house activities and full description of datasets and services; and
b) Geographic services, geospatial datasets, dataset series and geographic features and feature properties.
