The adoption of the ISO Standard as a Malaysian Standard was recommended by the Technical Committee on Electrical and Electronic Equipment under the authority of the Industry Standards Committee on Road Vehicles.
This Malaysian Standard is the first revision of MS 1166, Methods of test for alternators (with regulators) for motor vehicles.
This Malaysian Standard is identical with ISO 8854:1988, Road vehicles - Alternators with regulators - Test methods and general requirements (First revision), published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
