This Malaysian Standard specifies the performance requirements for acrylonitrile-butadiene- styrene (ABS) compounds pipes and fittings for the conveyance of liquids under pressure in applications above and below ground. The standard contains dimensions for two ranges of pipe sizes, Series 1 and Series 2.
Series 1 and 2 pipes are compatible with ISO 161 size series diameters.
NOTE. Pipes and fittings manufactured to this standard should be used and installed in accordance with MS 1419: Part 4.
This standard also specifies the requirements and test methods for mechanical fittings intended to join plastic pressure piping systems including transition fittings to metal pipes for the following:
a) Supply of water for human consumption (W), including raw water prior to treatment and for the supply of water for general purpose, as well as underground drainage and sewerage under pressure (P);
b) Supply of water for irrigation (I)
c) Industrial applications (IS)
