Safety in woodworking machinery - Part 1: General requirements
This Malaysian Standard specifies safety requirements for operating woodworking machinery which performs cutting, abrading or stock removing operation of, Wood, wood-based products, and any other like materials such as palms and bamboo.
It includes specifications for installation, machine design, safety and operating devices, dust and waste removals, noise control, feeding devices, specific guarding of machines, inspection and maintenance manual.
This standard does not cover machinery that is normally used in sawmilling, veneer and plywood mills and any other panel manufacturing industries. It also does not cover portable equipment and hand tools.
