Rubber and rubber products - Determination of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
This Malaysian Standard specifies a test method for the determination of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), that is applicable to monobrominated diphenyl ether to decabrominated diphenyl ether by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) in rubber, vulcanised rubber, rubber products and recycled rubber which are extracted by toluene.
This test method should be used under controlled laboratory conditions to detect and quantify the level of monobrominated to nonabrominated above 0.5 μg/g and decabrominated above 5 μg/g found in rubber containing products. It should not be used to describe, appraise or assess the hazard or risk of these rubber containing materials or products under actual usage conditions.
