PLASTICS - LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE FILMS FOR GENERAL USE AND PACKAGING APPLICATIONS - SPECIFICATION (FIRST REVISION)
MS 1478:2008
Status : 1st Revision
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies unpigmented, unsupported tubular, low-density polyethylene films (hereafter referred to as film or films) from resins having densities ranging from Class 1 polyethyle ....Read more nes of ASTM D 4976.

NOTES:
1. The density of a film will not necessarily be equal to the density of a molded plaque from the same resin.
2. Blends of ethylene /vinylacetate (EVA) with low-density polyethylene may have densities up to 0.929 g/cm3.

This Malaysian Standard is applicable to homopolymer polyethylene, but is not restricted to it. It is
applicable to films made from copolymer polyethylene commonly referred to in industry as low-pressure or linear low-density polyethylene, and also applicable to films made blends of homopolymers and copolymers, including ethylene/vinylacetate copolymers.

The thickness of the films covered by this specification is 100 ?m or less inclusive. The maximum width of the film or layflat is 3 m.

This Malaysian Standard does not cover oriented he

TEST METHOD FOR PLASTICS : DYNAMIC MECHANICAL PROPERTIES : IN FLEXURE (THREE-POINT BENDING) (FIRST REVISION)
MS 1473:2007
Status : Withdrawn
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard covers the use of dynamic mechanical instrumentation for gathering and reporting the visco-elastic properties of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins and composite systems in ....Read more the form of rectangular bars molded directly or cut from sheets, plates, or molded shapes.

The data generated, using three-point bending techniques, may be used to identify the thermomechanical properties of a plastics material or composition using a variety of dynamic mechanical instruments.

This Malaysian Standard is intended to provide means for determining the modulus as a function of temperature for a wide variety of plastics materials using nonresonant forced-vibration techniques, in accordance with Practice D 4065. Plots of the elastic (storage); loss (viscous); and complex moduli and tan delta as a function of frequency, time, or temperature are indicative of significant transitions in the thermomechanical performance of the polymeric material system.
