Printing specifications for optical character recognition
MS ISO 1831:1993 (CONFIRMED:2015)
Status : 1st Confirmation
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard contains the basic definitions, measurement requirements, specifications and recommendations for OCR paper and print.

Three major parameters of a printed document ....Read more for OCR media are covered. These are :

- the optical properties of the paper to be used;
- the optical and dimensional properties of the ink pat- terns forming OCR characters;
- the basic requirements related to the position of OCR characters on the paper.

The major factors of each of these areas pertinent to OCR are identified. Definitions of these items are given and bases for measurements are established.

Basic specifications applicable to all OCR materials are imposed and recommendations for the implementation of an OCR system are made.

STANDARD TEST METHOD FOR FLASH AND FIRE POINTS BY CLEVELAND OPEN CUP TESTER
MS 1830:2005
Status : Original
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard describes the determination of the flash point and fire point of petroleum products by a manual Cleveland open cup apparatus or an automated Cleveland open cup apparatus.
....Read more
NOTE 1—The precisions for fire point were not determined in the current interlaboratory program. Fire point is a parameter that is notcommonly specified, although in some cases, knowledge of this flammability temperature may be desired.

1.2 This test method is applicable to all petroleum products with flash points above 79°C (175°F) and below 400°C(752°F) except fuel oils.

NOTE 2—This test method may occasionally be specified for the determination of the fire point of a fuel oil. For the determination of theflash points of fuel oils, use Test Method D 93. Test Method D 93 should also be used when it is desired to determine the possible presenceof small, but significant, concentrations of lower flash point substances that may escape detection by Test Method D 92. Test MethodD 1310 can be empl

Road vehicles - Ignition systems - Part 2: Electrical performance and function test methods (ISO 6518-2:1995, COR. 1:1997, MOD)
MS 1827-2:2005 (CONFIRMED:2016)
Status : 1st Confirmation
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies the methods and test conditions for testing battery-supplied ignition systems for spark-ignited internal combustion engines.

Because of the difficulties ....Read more in producing repeatable measurements with atmospheric spark gaps and dif- ferent observers, two methods of obtaining the re- sults necessary for calculating the System output energy are gjven.

Method A
- using spark gaps for the energy measurement (test arrangement A). The output energy obtained by this method is called spark energy, Esp.

Method B
- using a Zener diode string for the en- ergy measurement (test arrangement B). The output energy obtained by this method is called Zener discharge energy, Ezd. This method is not suitable for Systems giving alter- nating spark current.

Method B is also recommended for the comparative testing of ignition coils and current interruption sys- tems.
