This document provides safety requirements in a battery swapping system (BSSys), for the
purposes of swapping swappable battery system (SBS) of light electric s (LEVs). The BSSys is intended to be connected to the supply network. The supply voltage is in accordance with IEC 60038.
This standard also applies to BSSys supplied from on-site storage systems (e.g. buffer
batteries) and for LEV equipped with one (1) or more SBS. Aspects covered in this standard
includes:
a) safety requirements of the BSSys and/or its systems;
b) security requirements for communication;
c) electromagnetic compatibility (EMC);
d) signs and instructions; and
e) protection against electric shock and other hazards.
This document is not applicable to:
a) aspects related to maintenance and service of the battery swapping station (BSS);
b) trolley buses, rail vehicles and vehicles designed primarily for use off-road; and
c) maintenance and service of LEVs.
