TEST METHOD FOR EVAPORATION LOSS OF LUBRICATING OILS BY THE NOACK METHOD
MS 2031:2006
Status : Original
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard covers three procedures for determining the evaporation loss of lubricating oils (particularly engineoils). Procedure A uses the Noack evaporative tester equipment; Procedure B ....Read more uses the automated non-woods metal Noackevaporative apparatus; and Procedure C uses Selby-Noack volatility test equipment. The test method relates to one set ofoperating conditions but may be readily adapted to other conditions when required.
Noack results determined using Procedures A and B show consistent differences. Procedure A gives slightly lowerresults versus Procedure B on formulated engine oils, while Procedure A gives higher results versus Procedure B on basestocks.

The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.

This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety

Status : 1st Confirmation
Format : PDF

This Malaysian Standard specifies requirements for treatment of all timber components used in roof and ceiling construction where termites and wood bori ....Read more ng insects are common threats to structural performance of these timbers.

This standard is only applicable to timber that is used for indoor above-ground contact, protected from wetting during service. The treatment specified in this standard has been primarily designed for copper-chrome-arsenic preservative (CCA) formulations complying with MS 733. It does not cover the remedial treatment of existing timber in old buildings nor does it deal with the protection of timber against fire, weathering or staining.

CAUTION: Attention is drawn to the mandatory requirement that the CCA marketed in this country shall be registered with the Pesticides Board Malaysia under the Pesticides Act (Amendment 2004).
