Specification for the material, marking, dimensions and type test of crimp type copper aluminium Bi-metal lugs for use with XLPE insulated and compact aluminium conductors in single and multi-core power cable applications up to 36 kV
This Malaysian Standard specifies the construction and the overall installed dimensions of crimp type Bi-metal lugs for use with XLPE insulated compacted aluminium conductors in single and multi-core power cable application up to 36 kV. Dimensions are provided for the full length, friction weld diameter between copper and aluminium, dimensions of copper palm, internal diameter of barrel, thickness of barrel, chamfer for on lug barrel and type test. This standard applies to terminal lugs for the compact aluminium conductors of XLPE insulated single and multi core power cables with cross-section 16 mm2 to 1,000 mm2. This standard is applicable to Bi-metal lugs for both low voltage applications i.e. up to a maximum of 1 kV, and medium voltage applications of greater than 1 kV but up to a maximum of 36 kV. This standard is applicable to one hole Bi-metal lug up to 400 mm2, and one hole and multi hole for 500 mm2 to 1,000 mm2 in the palm
