Operation of timber treatment plants - Code of practice (First revision)
This Malaysian Standard code of practice is intended to give practical guidance on the safety, aspects of plant equipment, its operation and the treatment site.
Consultation with the relevant regulatory authorities which is responsible for the issues related to planning and environmental protection at all stages of site planning, development or installation of new facilities is necessary.
This code is applicable to any plant used for the impregnation and/or immersion of timber with water-borne preservatives, organic solvent based preservatives, creosote and fire retardants.
This document is not intended to cover in-situ methods of timber treatment or the use of highly flammable liquids (flash point below 32 °C). All preservatives used shall be in accordance with their approval under the Control of Pesticides Act, 1974
