Manual of tests and criteria for transport of dangerous goods - Part 4: Classification procedures, test methods and criteria relating to Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Division 5.1, Class 8 and Class 9 - Section 2: Class 2- Flammable aerosols
1.1 This Malaysian Standard presents the scheme for the classification of flammable aerosols. The standard is used in conjunction with the classification principles given in MS 1513-2-3 and MS 1513-3 (special provision 63), the flow charts given in Figures 1, 2 and 3 and the tests prescriptions given in Clause 4, 5 and 6 of this standard.
1.2 The test procedures outlined in this standard adequately assess the relative hazard of flammable aerosols so that an appropriate classification can be made.
1.3 Aerosols offered for transport is to be subjected to the classification procedures as set out in special provision 63 of MS 1513-3:2007 and, for flammability, is to be subjected to the classification procedures as set out in this section. The classification procedure needs to undertake before a new product is offered for transport.
NOTE. Aerosol dispensers not submitted to flammability classification procedures in this sub-section is classified as extremely flammable.
