This Malaysian Standard specifies the requirements for purity of sodium metabisulphite (INS No. 223, C.A.S No. 7681-57-4) for use as antibrowning agent, antioxidant, flour treatment agent and preservative. This standard also describes the test methods to determine the purity of sodium metabisulphite.
