This Malaysian Standard gives requirements, guidance and recommendations for repair and rehabilitation method or technology of in-service liquid and gas pipelines for various anomalies.
This covers qualification and design, installation, testing, inspection, de-commissioning, re-commissioning, operation and maintenance of repaired and rehabilitated pipelines.
The liquid and gas pipelines shall be defined as per Petroleum (Safety Measures) Act 1984, Gas Supply Act 1993 and Gas Supply Regulations 1997.
The scope demarcation of these pipelines shall be as per ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8 respectively.
This standard does not cover potable water pipelines.
This scope does not cover fabricated assemblies such as valves, fittings, launchers, receivers and cathodic protection system.
