Electronic heating device for vapour and aerosol — Safety requirements and test methods
This document specifies the electrical and mechanical safety and test method requirements for electronic heating device which heat a heating medium to produce vapour or aerosol for inhalation without combustion of the heating medium.
Examples of the devices appliances that are within the scope of this document are:
a) vapour and aerosol devices appliances;
b) personal vaping devices appliances with or without nicotine;
c) electronic cigarettes;
d) electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS);
e) electronic non-nicotine delivery systems (ENNDS);
f) electronic tobacco heating devices appliances for heated tobacco products; and
g) electronic heating devices appliances for smoking products.
This document does not apply to:
a) medical ventilators; and
b) humidifiers (IEC 60335-2-98).
These requirements do not cover the consumables, including e-liquids and other inhaled aerosol substances, wicks, and other particulate matter inhaled during use, nor do they cover substances in the emissions from the operation of the devices.
These requirements do not consider the physiological effects of any consumable used with the appliances.
