This Malaysian Standard prescribes the analytical methods for iron-based coagulants with the following methods : 1.1 Determination of total iron content.1.2 Determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) content. 1.3 Determination of manganese content. 1.4 Determination of insoluble matter.1.5 Determination of toxic substances - Preparation of sample solution.1.6 Determination of arsenic, antimony and selenium by atomic absorptionspectrophotometry hydride technique.1.7 Determination of mercury by atomic absorption spectrophotometry cold-vapour technique. 1.8 Determination of cadmium, chromium, nickel and lead by atomic absorptionspectrophotometry graphite furnace technique.
