Glass-fibre reinforced plastics underground storage tanks for petroleum products, alcohols and alcohol gasoline mixtures - Specification (First revision)
This Malaysian Standard specifies requirements for cover spherical or horizontal cylindrical, atmospheric-type fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) tanks intended for the storage of petroleum-based flammable and combustible liquids, alcohols and alcohol-blended fuels in underground applications.
1.2 This standard covers primary, secondary or tertiary containment (aka single-wall, double-wall or triple-wall) tanks with or without multiple compartments.
1.3 These tanks are intended for installation and use in accordance with the standard for the installation of Oil-Burning Equipment, NFPA 31, the Code of Practice for the Storage and Handling of Flammable and Combustible Liquids, MS 761.
1.4 These tanks are completely fabricated, inspected and tested for leakage before shipment from the factory as completely assembled vessels and are intended for burial in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions.
