This Malaysian Standard is intended to provide uniformity in the definitions of the terms used in the Malaysian timber industry. This part deals with characteristics and properties of timber, including the stage of primary conversion but excluding the various products and processes of secondary manufacture. Structure, properties and defects of wood, both in the raw and converted states are, however, included.
