The adoption of the EN Standard as a Malaysian Standard was recommended by the Working Group on Lifts and Escalators under the authority of the Industry Standards Committee on Mechanical Engineering.
This Malaysian Standard is identical with EN 81-20:2014, Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts - Lifts for the transport of persons and goods - Part 20: Passenger and goods passenger lifts, published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN)
