Construction solid waste management - Code of practice
This Malaysian Standards provides guidelines for proper management of construction solid waste in order to minimise possible adverse impacts caused by improper handling of the construction solid waste.
This standard covers different stages of construction solid waste management, from the point where the construction solid waste is generated until final disposal, including storage, handling at source, collection, transportation, reuse, treatment and recycling. The requirements for preparing a construction solid waste management plan as well as data reporting to relevant authorities are also explained in this standard. However, the characterisation of construction solid waste conducted before the demolition activities (e.g. the decommissioning of M&E components) is not covered in this standard.
This standard covers only non-scheduled and non-radioactive construction solid wastes which are subject to Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act (Act 672).
