Fresh lettuces (Lactuca sativa L.) - Specification (First revision)
This Malaysian Standard prescribes the requirements for fresh lettuces (Lactuca sativa L.) of the Asteraceae Syn. Compositae family to be supplied fresh to consumers. Lettuce for processing is excluded.
List of lettuce varieties are (see Annex A):
a) Lactuca sativa L. var. capitata (head lettuces including crisphead or iceberg and butterhead);
b) Lactuca sativa L. var. longifolia (cos or romaine lettuces); and
c) Lactuca sativa L. var. crispa (looseleaf lettuces).
NOTE. Name of produce in reference to MS 325.
