The adoption of the ASTM Standard as a Malaysian Standard was recommended by the Technical Committee on Petroleum Fuels under the authority of the Petroleum and Gas Industry Standards Committee.
This Malaysian Standard is identical to ASTM D 1298-99e2, Standard test method for density, relative density (specific gravity), or API gravity of crude petroleum and liquid petroleum products by hydrometer method, published by the ASTM International.
Compliance with a Malaysian Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations.
