This Malaysian Standard establishes the criteria for eco-labelling of food-grade lubricants used in lubrication, heat transfer, load transmission or corrosion protection of machines and equipment in the manufacturing and processing of food and products that may include, but not limited to cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, animal feed and cleaning agent. This Malaysian Standard does not cover evaluation of product performance or operational criteria for food processing and other facilities. This Malaysian Standard seeks to define good environmental performance benchmarks for food grade lubricants and to promote restriction on highly toxic materials, to reduce the use of hazardous and polluting substances.
