This Malaysian Standard was developed by the Technical Committee on Fasteners and
Screw Threads under the authority of the Mechanical Engineering Industry Standards
Committee.
This Malaysian Standard is identical with ISO 261: 1998, ISO general purpose metric screw
threads – General plan, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO),
which has the same title. The text of the International Standard is recommended for
publication as a Malaysian Standard without deviation.
