Natural rubber field latex – Part 6: Determination of nitrogen content
This Malaysian Standard specifies a semi-micro method for the determination of nitrogen content in natural rubber field latex using Kjeldahl method.
Two methods are specified, in which a prepared total solids film is digested either using:
- Method A: Selenium catalyst mixture, or
- Method B: Titanium dioxide catalyst mixture.
This method is not necessarily suitable for latices from natural sources other than Hevea brasiliensis or for synthetic rubber latices, compounded latex, vulcanised latex, or artificial dispersions of rubber.
