The adoption of the ASTM Standard as a Malaysian Standard was recommended by the Technical Committee on Petroleum Fuels under the authority of the Petroleum and Gas Industry Standards Committee.
This Malaysian Standard is identical to ASTM D 5580-02, Standard test method for determination of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, p/m-xylene, o -xylene, C 9, and heavier aromatics, and total aromatics in finished gasoline by gas chromatography, published by the ASTM International.
Compliance with a Malaysian Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations.
